Matt (Willy's new owner) and I made the trek to Buck Island on Saturday. We encountered a bunch of relatively stock FJ55 types at the first rock. Sat for about an hour waiting for them to get through. We finally got to pass em at the slabs and it was smooth sailing from there on. No action at little sluice when we arrived. Some of the Pirates were there but heading back to play at the newly declared 'Soup Kitchen'. We went on to Buck where there were only a few people camping. Weather was perfect. This was only the second time I've had the runner on the trail. I must be getting used to it now. It worked extremely well though I didn't tackle any of the extreme stuff. Sorry, no pics of me going vertical or upside down. Sure was nice, having roll up windows and A/C. Go ahead and laugh. It was mighty comfy. Matt gained some more experience on the rocks with Willy. His friend from back in PA (Tim) was his co-pilot. Rockcrawling on the Rubicon is way different from the mud bogging they did back east. I think they both had a great time. Didn't have a single problem with either rig except we had to stop and tighten up some lug nuts on Willy after we hit the pavement...
Met up with some great folks on the trail. Some I haven't seen in a long time. Pat, Seabass, Vova, Mike, Pirates and a few others I can't remember names. Good to see you all...
