I have an extra CV toyota driveshaft. I'm wondering if it is feasible to remove one u-joint and the cv portion and turn it into a standard type driveshaft? Has anyone tried this?

more hassle than it's worth. just go get a rear from a truck or 4 runner. there not hard to get hold of.

going to pick n pull is a 1 hour drive each way. fighting with non engrish speakers for parts. I have the cv d-shaft in my garage.

Differant size u-joints. I don't think it'll work sorry. If you find yourself in Orange county I'll trade ya:D Pm if by some freak chance this happens:D

I've got a shaft like that. After grinding the cv crap off you are not left with much material to hold the u-joint. I'd make it for a spare, then get a good rear 4-runner shaft for your primary.
