I'm pretty excited that my old 92 F-250 made it into Diesel Power in the November issue. Mike McGlothlin did a nice write up based on the questions I answered and they actually used photos that I took. I'm no professional photographer, and my truck is old hat compared to the new $50K trucks normally featured in the magazine Anyway, it's feature starts on page 98 if anyone cares...

And before someone asks, I like chocolate chip cookies. :flipoff2:

There is your cookie. However on a better note i have an 89 ford F-250 diesel tow rig that i have a love hate relationship with. Good to see someone else has an old oil burner aswell and that it got coverage in a "new" diesel truck mag. Nice truck.

Nice! When i saw the first photo i thought you might have swapped in a later engine into it because it read "re-powerstraoke" and then the second pic said "Pre" and its still just the IDI.

Thanks guys! I was really happy to see my old truck in the Magazine. Its not a show truck by any means, but I do think it looks pretty good for a 92 :grinpimp:
I just stuck a brand new ATS aurora turbo kit on it, and am tinkering with the fuel settings to bring the boost up to a fun level. I'll either blow it up, or it'll run strong for an old IDI...

Real nice truck you got there. Mechanical fuel injection + manual tranny for the win. :D Simple and reliable... got my vote.

There's a huge stink at a GM diesel site right now because the 300 HP 6.5L TD truck, which was supposed to be in the new issue as advertised in the last issue, is nowhere to be found. Seems Diesel Power Mag likes to bait readers with stuff they really want to see, just to leave 'em hanging with the same ol' Cummins/Duramax stories month after month.

Who says the IDI can't be useful? I'd love a new truck, but this one is paid for and reliable as the day is long. My goal was to make it have every convienence feature of a new truck- keyless, a killer stereo, gauges, towing ability, lighting, tinted windows, etc., without the monthly payment of a new rig. So far, so good...and if it comes down to a "who can roll more coal out the tailpipe" contest, mine will win that over a newer truck too...
