I asked this in my general build thread but didn't get very much of a response. Due to the layout of my dash my steering column is blocking a direct shot of my bracing from the windshield to the frame. I've thought about running a hoop under it and tying that to the frame? see crappy picture. Any other ideas?

Don't know that i'd go to all that trouble. How about just get as close as possible to the vbar and angle over to the frame.

Kind of thinking long those lines now, maybe a down bar on each side of the column.
If you have the room angle in from the A pillar. It'd most likely be a bigger benefit than the arching around for the center windowbars since you can 't get there. My A pillars have taken 90% of the abuse on my rig.

I agree with this. Remember, by tying the frame to the windshield bar you are strengthening the roof from bending down a little but more importantly you are strengthening the frame from bending up. That is why you add tube in a truss configuration starting at the window bar, down to the frame, back up to the hood bar, back down to the frame, and back up to the radiator mounting area.
Does that make sense?
