I am getting an alignment done. Is there an agreed setting for my caster with a Tera 3" lift? I have heard some say it is best to set it at the factory spec and some say less. What would be the pros and cons of each? I just put on a new tie rod, so I am getting it done.
See Jeep specs below.

Once you get that high with a TJ lift, you shouldn't try to restore the caster back to the seven degree factory setting. The reason why is because doing so can increase the front driveshaft angle at the pinion shaft too much and cause vibrations on the front driveshaft.
Caster angle is not a critical setting... it's one of those that all you need is "enough" caster angle. Anything between five and six degrees is fine... but for the above reason, again, don't attempt to return it back to the seven degree factory setting.
Right, I agree. How much, though?

As was mentioned above, any caster setting between five and six degrees should be fine. Just try to get the left and right sides the same if possible, though that isn't even critical. My left and right caster angles are off by something like .1 or so from each other and my TJ handles great... no Death Wobble in years.

Most allignment techs dial 0.5* of extra +VE caster into the passenger side because it helps it track better.
