3FE Head to 2F block?
Has anyone ever heard of this being done? Basically it is using the 3FE (from a gutless block) head to produce a fuel injected 2F (a block with some balls). The distributor would also have to switched over. I have a guy interested in buying my 3FE engine and fuel injection set up, to try to put it on a 2F.??
If anyone knows of this being done please let me know, and how it was accomplished!

Bolts right on... And is a super easy way to gain FI on a 2F
Increases compression as well from what I have heard..

Jason,
Do you know of anyone with this set up? Or a source for how to do it?

Someone not too long ago did the swap. It also works both ways. Putting a 2F head on a 3F motor.
Basically if you keep all of the computers/wiring harness and I mean everything, it should be an easy swap. Take the old head off and bolt the new one on.
As I recall there was one cooling duct that either was not necessary or was not used. But I am not sure on that. I will try to figure out where the info was for you.
BTW, thanks a lot for the axles!!!

Would you have to reprogram the EPROM, or are the engines similar enough to not need to?
Also, would the 3FE distributor be the one to use, or would an HEI or late model 2F distributor work?

Thanks for the link! Now to track down the guy that did it and get the low down on the small parts.
Thanks!

BWAHAHAHA, screw the 4.3 setup, 3FE parts would say Toyota on them, and the minimum wage junkies at Jiffy Lube wouldn't know any better for my IM! Hehehehe

No prom kits for the 3FE computer to my knowledge. Computer should handle the change from 4.0 liter to 4.2 liter without any issues.
You need to keep the 3FE distributor, as it provides the signal to the computer. No, not the same as a 2F electronic distributor or a HEI conversion. The computer will calculate the ignition maping.
FYI: The 3FE harness and computer are different for FJ62 & FJ80.
