I have used a few different jury rigged Milwaukee portabands set up for stationary. All of them were big time rush jobs and kind of crude. I have had it in the back of my mind to build my own, and when I found a Porter Cable 15 miles away from home for 20 bucks I ran and got it. It didn't work and it turns out that the cord was good and the plug was bad, tough fix:) It turned out to be an ideal candidate, I can easily reach the trigger which has a button for constant on, and a seperate dial for speed control. The saw is affixed to the vertical square tubing with 2ea 1/4 inch bolts and the table is affixed to the saw with 4 #10 machine screws. I just did some rough cuts with it and it cuts dandy. I already have a Milwaukee 28v, and DeWalt Portabands so it make more sense to make a complete stand for this one rather than the slick vice mounted plates being sold here.

a vendor has a slick one in tools section, like $30-40 for deep cut, clamps in vise
