4WD, single wheel, Allison, 55k miles.

I now want something more out of it - primarily economy but I do pull 30-40ft boats and then, of course, it would be nice to smoke up a banker in his porsche with the top down.
I'm thinking intake, exhaust, box - just the standard stuff.
I'm looking to spend no more than than $2k.
Can some of you guys post up with what you would recommend and maybe some of your personal experiences.

#1 - Go here - http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=140
#2 - Cheapest 5" or I guess 4" exhaust you can find
#3 - EGR Block off plate and finger stick (you can find them on Diesel Place)
#4 - Transgo Shift improver kit - SK Allison Jr http://www.transgo.com/rpg_generalmtr.php
#5 - Guages then a programmer, or a programmer with the built in gauges.

Can you elaborate on the egr block off plate and the shift kit. I mean things like ease of installation and their purpose.

I really appreciate the links but I guess my account is in the process of registration b/c it denies me access. What are the benefits of blocking off the EGR and is it just a matter screwing a plate on the EGR system somewhere?

Also, isn't EFI live a little more involved? Like not exactly plug and play?

I really want something stupid simple.

Dieselplace is a great site and has alot of info. I too have an LBZ, keep the stock intake but do the PPE modification. The aftermarket is a waste of money, the stock intake/filter will move plenty of air unless you plan on some serious upgrades. I run the Predator tuner and i have never had a problem. I have friends who run predators and EFI live but like said the EFI live can be more expensive. If you plan on serious HP down the road then EFI live is the tuner to run. I run the flowmaster cat back on mine, it is quiet on trips but has a throaty tone when getting on it. I like it since it doesnt draw alot of attention to me. Good luck with it, D-Maxs are great trucks.

I've got an 06 LLY...Leveling kit, 35's, 4" MBRP turbo back exhaust, Edge Evolution programmer. I wouldn't change a thing about my truck. This pic is before the programmer, exhaus, and window tint.

I just picked up a 5" intake and exhaust for less than $600 for my CTD from dieseldawgs.com. He has the best prices around and I got all of my stuff in less than a week.
