well the 38's are on and fit ok. They won't have much up travel unless I seriously hack the floorboard (Possibility- but no mig welder) or buy a body lift (I'd rather not). Which would you all suggest?

I like my body lift, 2" from Roger Brown. I know I could put 38's on my rig with no problem. Tons of room with the 35 sx's I have now. Plus it allowed me to do a transfer case lift (1/2 a drive train lift). But I've also got rear toy's in front and front shackles.

IMO don't do the body lift. There is always ways around it. I was running 3" body, toy rears up front and 2" drivetrain lift with 39s and I managed to get rid of the BL completely and couldn't be happier. And still have the drivetrain lift. I don't rub at all in the front anymore after trimming about 2" around the well.

I have 5" allpro's, tubbed floorboards, and the tires still hit. Moving the axle foward anouther inch before this weekend. I had no problems with 36's and no floorboard mod's, I thought I had room for 38's too, but found out the hard way I didn't. It has cost me a month of wheeling:mad:

I borrowed a mig welder today from my boss and will be tubbing out the front a bit more. I already sawzalled the fenders and there actually seems to be enough room.

This is something Ive noticed. Just cuz it works on one truck dosnt mean it will work on everyones. Now granted I dont know which toy you have or how far forward your axle is but I just dont under stand how yours rubs and mine with no tubing and only 3" of lift clears just fine. O the axle is moved 2.5 farward. Sometimes I think alot of it has to do with the wheels. How wide and how much offset they have. I guess I really dont have a point, just curious why set ups like yours still rub. A thought ? How do the wheel openings compare from second to third gen. trucks? are the 89 and up bigger maybe? anyway Ill quit rambling....

They hit when you push up against the rocks we have out here in the West:D I'm at standard offset, with less offset they are even closer to the wheelwell when in a turn. I have my steering box as far forward as possible (cut the body mount) and this will be max for the axle as far as moving it foward. Next is back to 36's, Anyone want to trade for new 38's?:D
