I've got 33x12.50 pro-comp mud terrains on 15x8 steelies. How much pressure could I air down to, doing mild wheeling, and not rip the bead off the rim every two seconds?

I go down to about 10 lbs...im running the same dimensions as you are, and i fel that's pretty safe.
Occasionally, i've gone down to 8 lbs, but im probably really lucky i didnt pop a bead

wow, I didn't think you could go that low. I'll probably start out with something a little higher than that, but now I have a ballpark estimate to work with. Thanks for the info.

with steelies you go low they hold much better than aluminum...
i use to run my old samurai with 34 ltb's at 2lbs in the snow(ltb's suck in the snow)if they are bias and the rig is fairly light 3800-4200 i'd say 5lbs

depend on weight of rig and if it's locked or not

2nd gen 4runner so about 5400Lb I believe, and locked front and rear.

I have the same size tire (Trxus STS) on my TJ and I've aired down to 8 for sand and snow without ANY problems at all.

Fast running - 18 ish

slow trail crawling 10-12

sand/soft 8-9

That is my starting recommendations for a "D" rated tire...if you have the "C" rated tire, add a pound or so.

If you have a locker up front, run a bit higher in the front than the rear to keep the downhill turns from pushing the bead off on the outside front tire. Pro Comps have one of the tightest bead tolerances of any brand and hold very well...still 5400 is not exactly light.

i would just put some wrinkle in the tire. i run 12psi and thats on the safe side. i also ran 12psi 25 miles to work one day, she was a little wiggley on the street.:)

alright thanks for the help guys. I'll start out with 15 or so in the front and about 12 in the back and see how that works out and go from there.
