Since I have a soft top i need to figure out an alternative way to mount a roofrack. I was thinkin makin some kind of exo cage type thing like the NAS defenders that goes overtop of the whole car and mounts to the sides. Any ideas on how I could do this?

I think you need to convert it as hard glass. Or just have someone to do it for you, I've seen some roof rack that's made of metals but it's still soft. Try to look at racepages.com for some parts that can help you.
