I got my 38.5 bias ply tsl's today :D taking up about 1/2 the livingroom right now since i live in an apartment and I don't want them to dissapear out of the back of my truck. I grooved 2 today, man am i wishing I could have afforded the $400 dollar groover. needless to say I got the 60 dollar one and my arms are paying the price, at 66 cuts per tire, that a lot of pain medication! anyways I'll be balancing them with golfballs so I'll give a full report as soon as I am done with the groover and get them mounted up.

yeah blazin that's how I grooved them. I was going to do the v cut in each v but that would have been twice as much work for little more result, plus my arm is killing me from 2 days of grooving. anyways about the balancing........I'm putting golfballs inside the tires to balance them at speed, it's an old trucker's trick. it doesn't woork at low speeds becuase the balls aren't held to the outside of the tire by centrifugal force, but I understand it works quite well at speed. anyways I will be putting 5-6 balls inside of eacjh tire when I mount them, I should have them mounted by tuesday so I'll give a full report by wed-thurs. and let you guys know how they ride. and I will be taking it out wheelin as SOON as possible.

well I got them all mounted today after work, man am I worn out. I ended up using 5 balls per tire. I haven't got all the wieghts off the rims from the previous tires I got the majority off. it rides pretty good as far as swampers go (as we all know if you want a cadilac ride, get something else). it rides good at 60+. starts a little wobble at about 57 or so but smoothes out at 60 and above, I didn't run it much past 60 but it didn't start to wobble at 62-63 so I'm sure 65-70 will be safe. enjoying the change from 35 inch 12.5 radials to 38.5inch 16 bias plys.

hit 70 today with no major problems so the balancing seems to be working. tires do flatspo overnight but it's not very bad at all, barely noticeable infact over and above the regular bounce that is inherent with this size/type of tire. just some side notes: the tires measure out at a true 37 inches tall (38.5x16x15) and the tread is right at 13 inches as quoted on the interco web site. total width is around 15.75, this is all mounted on a 15x10 inch wheel. with an untouched dana 60 rear I have 11.5 inches of clearance under the center off the diff., thinking about shaving :D . other than that no trouble or anything else to report, happy to answer any questions.....
