I think I may have found a F250 HP44 locally for $250 with 4.09 gears. The only thing missing are the hubs. I already have a Ford 9" from a F100 that I am planning on swpping into my Wrangler TJ. I want to try to keep the 5x5.5" bolt patter that the 9" has. So, would I be able to swap everything from the knuckles out on a F150 to the F250 axle to get the 5x5.5" bolt pattern, but keeping the thicker axle tubes. I remember someone saying that the F250 axle would be about 66" WMS-WMS while the F150 axle is 65". By doing this swap would I be able to narrow the F250 axle without cutting it? I am trying to do this axle swap as cheap as possible. That is why I want to try to avoid having to cut the axle housings down. I thought about getting a Dana 60 out of a Ford since I have seen quite a few in my local pick-n-pull, but I think it would be overkill, it would have to be narrowed, and I would end up dragging it everytime I go out. If there is anything in here that is wrong please correct me since I am still learning about the Ford stuff.

You don't need to change the knuckles. By leaving them on you will now have flat tops. Everything else is a bolt on operation. The 9" is a nice rear, except for the very low pinion. Just keep that in mind with the already short drive shaft.

What is the width of the F250 axle? I heard 66"-67". Is that right?

Nope, all rear 60's at Circle Auto Recycling in Petersburg. It's not too far off I-95. I have been looking for a front 60 for a buddy of mine, but haven't had any luck.
