So it ain't '4-wheelin' but they're gonna be blocking off a 2 or 3 mile section of old highway 40 and running motorcycles and shifter karts from the bottom (near Donner Lake) to the top (Ski Ranch), kinda like a 'Pikes Peak' run. Pirate member and resident crazy man Glenn Bonner will be running his 80cc shifter kart as will his buddy Neal. They'll probably be able to hit around 80 or maybe 90 mph. Should be fun to watch. It's both Saturday and Sunday and they should be getting in 4 runs each day.

There is also supposed to be a motorcycle Hill Climb. I love to watch those. For more info, contact Donner Ski Ranch... For those that aren't aware, this is the location of the next big Calrocs event in Sep. They have some awesome rock formations at Donner and they're real excited about having a big turnout so be sure and mark it on your calendar... Check it out this weekend... :D:D:D

damn it. i will be at a off-road race in tonopah. would be fun to run the shifter cart up there.

CalROCS will be represented by the Fabers, and hopefully lamce and Jeff Huelsman.
We are putting on a little Rock Crawling Demo at Noon, 2pm and 4pm both Sat. and Sun.

It's suposed to be over 100 degrees here in Sacramento this weekend. That in itself should be good enough reason to head up to Donner... And to Tahoe for the boat show if you're into that... Cycle racing, Karts, Hill Climbs and Rock Crawling demo's. Damn, sounds like a full days fun to me...

Hot August Nights is already going down. It started the 3rd. This weekend is usually the biggest, so it should be cool. It's definately worth the trip if you live in CA.

i was supposed to be in the dirtbike hillclimb in the stock 250 class but i my parents got a beach house an hour from pismo so im going there for a week instead:D hillclimbs come in second behind dunes:D

from what I heard H.A.N was postponed a weekend this year, as in it starts this weekend..

Either way I will be there for the beginning or the ending :)

i work right off interstate 80, hot rods headed up there all day today. gonna go check out the rock crawl demo then on up the hill to hot august nights in the cuda :D

old highway 40 motorcycle dayz is really exciting! theres a hill climb, the paved course glenn is speaking of(like 35 corners in 3 miles or something wicked) with many different classes or carts and motorcycles, a supermotard race, battletrax(real tight and twister course in the parking lot you compete against the clock). i think they still have ysr 50's and 80's dukin it out on a race course to(knees and elbows on the tarmac in the corners) get there if you can, especially since theres rock crawlin too:D i think we payed like $15 to camp, $25 to get in...
