the title says its a 58 but Im not sure. Heck Im not sure about most of it. It does have a 345v8 and the 3spd has been replaced with a 4 spd. The axles are heavy, not sure what make or nothing about them. It also has a divorsed transfer case with an extra output on the rear like in a 6x6. It had been in my family for years and we used to enter it in local truck pulls. It has set for many years and doesnt run. I got it to turn over with no fire though. I am thinking of just pulling the axles out and using them in another project, along with the transfer to. I was looking for a gm front dana 60 for my other truck but this might big god enuff. If anyone has some info from the pictures on it I would be very thankful.

I could be wrong but the axles look lime GMC 2 1/2 ton (M 211 or maybe others) the Transfer with the additional output supports this conclusion. These axles arent all that desireable. I could be way off on the axles and T case, maybe others can help ya more. All that being said, kinda a cool old school build with parts that were available at the time.

Not sure about the value or desirability of the drive-train, but for us web wheelers the lazyboy in the cab sure looks comfy. Nice looking truck though, looks pretty stout in an oldschool kinda way.

A-130 probably. Axles are probably one of the old school axle builders. Eaton, Rockwell, Napco, etc... Worth almost $zero.

Yay!:homer:

Might not be worth much but I agree, it is beefy as hell and cool in an old school kind of way. If it was mine and the body was not too far gone, I'd just get it running and restore it. Lots of the big old brake stuff on the big five and six lug may be common and not that hard to come by. Those drums on that thing look huge! It should stop pretty good if you can fix them.

You're correct. They are the old style 2.5 ton axles used in the M211 military trucks.
