I've got add-a-leafs in the back(to cure the sagging butt that the 4Runners have) and the torsion bars cranked up some in the front to try and level the truck out. Now my 31's look small so I'm thinking about 32's or the 33x10.5 BFG's. Is anybody running the 33x10.5 on stock wheels without a body lift or suspension lift?

sounds to me like you have about 2" suspension lift.

put on the 33's, if they rub, that will be incentive for you to raise it more

What's a torsion bar?

Mark, if you don't have any... you can have my old ones. They have slight fire damage, but come complete with A-arms. ;)

I have an 89 SR5 4WD, extended cab 22RE/G58. I'm running 33x12.50x15 ProComp AT's on 15x10 alloy wheels, 3-5/8" backspacing and no lift of any kind. I trimmed the front bumper valance with my sawzall, about 1-1/2" to nothing taper for clearance. The tires hit on the rear fender lip when I turn hard, but usually no problems.
I am definitely putting a lift on the truck. It'll be a few weeks, as I don't have an entire day free for at least a month and the truck is my daily driver. The sawzall was just a temporary fix but not the solution.

Just my 2 cents.

We took an 86 stock height runner through the Dusy on 33-10.5's. They rubbed a bit, but not so bad it would stop the vehicle.

I've got a stock 87 x-cab torsion's cranked about 1 1/2".I don't like blocks and add-a-leafs ride to ruff so the back is stock.I am running 33x9.50's on the stock crome mags.Absolutly no rubbing at all.But obviously because the GAY IFS is tight from cranking it they can't move enough to rubb. The back has very little flex due to the stock overload and it hit's the bump stop with about 3/4" between the tire and fender.Hopefully in about a month I can cut that crap off and make room for my coils.:D

WTF is happening here?

I'll leave MYSELF open to a flamefest here because I don't know a whole lot about the IFS system even though my truck USED to have it.

How the F*CK do you guys wheel with tires that rub when you take a hard turn (daveugm), or with your torsion bars cranked way up (JL8Jeff) or with stiff springs (Add-a-leafs) (JL8Jeff).

I don't give a Sh*t if you haven't converted over to SAS yet but for the love of GOD, get these pavement prancer questions off the board! I wouldn't even mind if you asked which IFS kit got you enough lift for 33's, but, COME ON!

I just got my 33"s, and haven't been offroad with them yet. I won't even bother until I've lifted it. For now, the truck just gets me to work.
Yes, the rubbing sucks when I turn it hard, but only as I approach full lock. And that's only once or twice a week.
Like I said, I just don't have the time to do the work on it right now.
