Has anyone used a zj grand cherokee proportion valve on a xj to get the rear disk bakes more pressure

most people who do the 8.8 conversion with disks do this....so yes

i didn't notice any real increase of braking power with my 8.8 disks, but it certainly didn't get any worse, so i left the stock valve

After my 8.8 swap I talked to Van at Vanco about proportoning valves and how the spring effected it. I decided to modifiy springs to get what I wanted. For me the best breaks wound up being no proportoning or 50/50 split or gutted valve. Seems that with the small 8.8 disks and the allready larger stock front disks a 50/50 gave the best breaking. The front being bigger allready have more bias towards the front so the 50/50 worked best for me. This also gives max breaking to all wheels and you will love that if you have to back down a hill. You may feel a bit of difference but once you get used to the stronger rear breaks you will like it. Now if you run small tires light tires on a rig without all the heavy mods like bumpers and skids then the ZJ spring may be what you want for max controll on fast wet pavement breaking. Mine is a 98 FWIW.

Just did the Teraflex kit on my XJ. It's basically Exploder brakes with dual drilled rotors. Tried it with un-moded hydrolics. A little soft. Removed the O-ring from the prop valve. MUCH BETTER!!!!! Now its takes very light pressure to get my 35's to stop. And I'm a skinny bastard.

I figured out the brake issue and didnt think of it till some advice came my way when i put the new calibers on the guys at advance auto parts kept the boxes to ship the old ones back for the core charge so i brought them home an put them on and there is a left and right just didnt pay attention....make sure when u put new caiblers on that the bleeder is on the top part of the caibler not the bottom like mine cause it makes an air pocket and u will never bleed it out....still just a touch spongy so im gonna try to remove the little seal inside the proportion valve.
