This is what it was suppose to say:
I am in the middle of fixing my leaky P/S gear box and the seals for the stub shaft are about a quarter of an inch too small. I tried a couple of different auto stores with different brand products and they all have the smaller seals. The listing is from 78 to 86 too, so it's not like I just have a different year box.
Any ideas?
It is an 84CJ7.
new one measures 1.267"
old one measures 1.379"
That little bit allows the new seal to drop into the adjuster plug instead of being pressed in and this will allow the box to leak worse than it did before.
Thanks for your help.
