Is Robb's closed for the winter? I am heading up there tonight and would like to leave my trailer there and hit up the Swap meat on sunday.

Yes, they're closed but they will be open for the Swap meet. I don't know what services they'll have available, if any.

You can always park your trailer at the Loon Lake Chalet. Just be sure to park in the gravel lot and not on the pavement.

Why is that? Why can't you park on the pavement?

Anytime I've ever rented out the Chalet, I've had people park on pavement and didn't care. I've let people use the 2nd bathroom, and let them come inside and wash up, get a soda, etc.

Is this a rule by the forest folks or is a "courtesy" thing for the tenants at the Chalet?

If you're staying at the Chalet, you can park on the pavement. If you're parking your tow rig and trailer and using the trail, you must park in the gravel lot.

Yes they are closed but Scott will be there so maybe you can ask him if you can leave your trailer there.

Chalet paved parking is for Chalet paid users... if they choose to be courteous, they can share, but often they don't, and often USFS enforces due to what they perceive to be the intent of Chalet paid users... we're just better off avoiding even the appearance of user conflict be parking in the gravel area.

No, that's not fair, but it is what it is, and right now it makes sense to avoid the conflict, even if it means sitting in the back of the metaphorical bus.
