just wondering did any trucks or cars besides the camaros come with a cable shifter? im going to hit the junkyards tomorrow.
i got a s10 and pretty much anytime its flexing or on its side the column shifter gets jammed cause the body is junk. im not putting any more money in this thing if i dont have to

I got the cable out of a camaro, but the shifter was out of an Olds Trofeo. It was a horseshoe style. I did have to use a dremel and file to recut the gates, though. A buddy of mine is still running it in his blazer.

yeah my friend has a few camaros and he told me to look for one of those. but usually all the camaros i see in the junkyard are gutted. i think the 80s cutlasses had them too

I think you can use the cable out of some of the fwd cars, but they have some large "fittings" on the end of the cable housings that can be a pain to work around. I have one laying around, I'll get a pic up later. Then the problem becomes fabbing a mount that bolts to the trans pan to hold the cable.
