i beat the shit out of mine locked on 33's. only spit out the caps on a junkyard shaft once. this is in a light ranger with a 2.9 though. put manual hubs on it.

When my rig used to have the TTB still in it, I had 35x14.5 boggers on it, welded front and rear diffs, and it did not like that at all. I broke a lot of stuff, the power steering pump would whine and whine from the stress, and I broke a couple tie rod ends.

Now, before the 35's, I ran 32" mud terrains with it welded front and rear, and that worked out beautifully. I could pin it and crank the wheel and not worry about a thing breakin in the frontend. ANd that's with a 4.0, A4ld and 3.55s. I put 33s on it for a while and it only broke a hub one time, but you could feel the difference between the 32s and 33s.

Honestly, I'd say a 33 is about the biggest you want to go on these trucks if you like gettin on it out in the woods. If you have a conservative foot and 4.10s and up, you could run 35s, maybe 36s. But that'd be about the limit.
