In posting the current Federal Register announcements to the ORC Land Use Section I came across something buried in an FS announcement that at first glance seems like no concern of ours. In McKean, Co., PA the Allegheny NF is preparing an EIS for something called the Sugar Run Project. Buried in the middle of the announcment is this paragraph:

"4. OHV trail expansion--A project to expand an existing trail for Off-Highway-Vehicles (OHVs) into the Sugar Run Project Area is in the preliminary planning stage. Although analysis of this trail expansion will occur in a separate environmental document, the Sugar Run EIS will need to consider the cumulative effects anticipated over the next ten years associated with the OHV trail expansion."

Something for you guys to keep your eyes on, there is very little wheeling out east. The full announcement is at:

Thanks, I missed that.

Although the OHV's in PA relate to quads, bikes and snowmobiles, not trucks in Allegheny NF. I am going to pass this on to a couple of riding clubs in the Pittsburgh area for them to keep an eye on also.

Thanks again.
