My feedback on your new product I posted on WAZ.

I changed your thread title so it can be found for users that use the search feature.
The front frame up to the steering box also needs reienforcement.
There are more steering box mount failures then uni-frame failures.

My plated frame still develps cracks in that seciton of frame. I just re weld it when needed once a year. I dotn have steering box failures because I no longer run a box, full hydro.

the rear leaf mounts do rip out of the frame. I agree the whole rear frame does not need to be plated, but the rear shackle mounts do fail, especialy for east coast guys that see salted roads.

My frame stiffiners are 1/8in, I dont think 3/6in is really needed.
If you made a dimple died 1/8in plate it would look cooler, be lighter and cost less in materials. That is what I would do if I did it over.

I believe you are on the right track there with the front end but everything needs to start somewhere.....Going into the fenderwell makes tying the 2 together much easier.

On the thickness I will always err on the side of strength. When you start adding the additional leverage of longarm suspension and much larger tires than were intended from the factory you need to bring the chassis up to those standards also. I made these last week out of 10 Gauge (slightly thicker than 1/8") and simply decided it was too lite.

On using Dimpled material I agree it would be a strength advantage but the chassis would have to have multiple holes drilled (20?) that were large enough to accomidate the dimple itself and the people that don't live in our part of the country (the Southwest) would be adding rust issues. To dimple them outward would add the same strength but would also make it easier to catch on a rock so we will keep them smooth.

And thanks for the title change!

Wow...I wish these had been around when I did mine. I spent so much time drilling all those 1" holes for welding...UGH!

Dan do you guys ship to Canada?
I want to purchase diff covers and possibly these rails in the near future...
I added items to my Cart and my address is correct but I want to make sure it is NOT being sent to KALIFORNIA Ontario?

I am only questioning this because I can't remember if it asked which country I was from when I signed up for RS give away's plus the fact that shipping is still only $10 for me on 1 diff cover?

If you are being a nice guy with the cheap rates, that's fn' fantastic :D but something just seems too good to be true :(

2-3 orders a day, the limitations are pretty tight though, we use the priority mail flat rate international boxes and they are limited to 20lbs each. They are $20 each box but get there pretty quick. Call me and we can verify everything is correct.

I figured that was the case... still a good deal though for a 14lbs box
I will be calling you in the near future because I want your covers badly :)

Worst case scenario for the reinforcement rails... I can have them shipping to Superior Communications in Port Huron and pick them up State side :p

Shipping would be only $10 that way!

Because there is so little made exclusively for the XJ.

The first batch is gone, I just made 5 sets to see how they would go. They are a little more expensive that the rest but have several more features.....

Tommorrow or Monday we will have the next batch (30 Pair) in from the benders....

what would the downside be to these being made out of 10 guage? seems like the weight consciousness on here would bring up someone wanting them in that rather than 3/16... especially if an extensive cage got tied into the frame. i don't know what is optimal as i am planning out my reinforcements.

If I could find an MJ to work with we would go from there. A straight MJ is getting pretty hard to find out here.....

The difference is about 5/100". I had originally intended to make them that thick but after making a set I just decided it wasn't thick enough to mount a skid plate to. We are trying to make something rigid and 10 gauge is not enough in my opinion.

There brackets were designed to go over there 3/16" unirail reinforcements so there would be no difference.
