what are these things? I see people using "hobby grade" parts on cheap crawlers ie: Nylint/New Bright. I would like to get some of these mods, but don't know how they work, what they do, or how to hook them up. LIke a servo.I need better steering, but don't know how i would rig it.

Any help?

check towerhobbies.com .
generally hobby grade components are of WAY higher quality than toy stuff. I run a tekin FXR Pro and Hitec servos. Generally higher end escs can handle hotter motors and more cells. Servos are all about torque

i checked it out. Thing is, I have some of these parts, but don't know how to hook them up to a toy grade RC. My servo is the most important part i want to rig up.

it is not easy or allways possible to hook up hobby grade electronics to a toy grade R/C...

most of the time the best route to go is to replace all of your toy grade parts.. that would mean you would need a transmitter, receiver, ESC, and servo..

and the servo will more then likely not just drop right in it will take some modification and new linkages to install..

Toy grade parts are usually integrated into one unit so they're hard to replace individually. You'll probably have to yank out all the toy electronics and toss in RC grade stuff.

Good luck! :D
