I have to let the guy know tonight if I'm buying it. I'll do a search but any quick info would be great. Is this IFS box any better or worse than others?

Thanks,

C'mon guys...I did the search. I know the IFS is good to go, but the search only mentioned '86 models. No pricing or different years were talked about.

IFS box = Good, secter shaft is larger than a celica and is a little bigger only stip is it mounts to the outside of the frame and depending on where you mount it you may loose the front dr side body mount which doesnt seem to affect anything as far as price I have seen them go anywhere from 75-150 I got mine for free that is I bardered work for it

chris,

They seem to sell for a little more then most used boxes. I was lucky and got mine for $75. I popped it on my frame, and decided that it wasn't going to work for me. Most seem to be selling for the $150+ range.

In contrast, I payed about $40 for the Saginaw, it has a larger sector shaft, and you can change the gearing, rotation direction, and have a huge selection of pitman arms. Not to mention you can find just about every box design you can think of. Inside the frame, outside the frame, 3 bolt, 4 bolt.. You get the idea. Also a huge aftermarket for these boxes as they are popular on 4x4s and hotrods. Did I mention a seal kit only costs about $30?

If you do the pick-a-part thing, expect to pay even less.

I paid $45 at the local You Pull It, a couple months ago. (FWIW)
