Get enough tube on there and it'll look like Bettio's junk (j/k :flipoff2: )

Looks very cool, we need to do the same with Rich's (IndyCJ's) pile of parts.

That looks great. What did they charge you for that (if they low balled for you tell me at ERoCC so I can get that deal)? They did a great job and your design choice looks really good also. What color will the tube be? What are you using for the floor? A flat bed or just leaving it open?

Now all you need is a spotter who will fill the holes in front of your tires before he tells you to drive into them :flipoff2:

I'm assuming that you are going to be home tomorrow? If it's ok, I'll stop by early afternoon.

Yeah I'll be around. I gotta hit gasoline alley for some goodies in the morning, and then gonna start the painting.

I thought the price was very reasonable, not gonna reveal the amount publicly. Some new parts, an aluminum 10 gal fuel cell, a pair of bilsteins that didn't arrive in time, the track bar (and heims), a cheap set of (hehehe) used springs, a shitload of mig wire, and all the tubing and expanded metal (floor), some mounts/brackets, and a handful of hardware.

I don't know if I got special pricing or not. Don't care actually, suffice it to say it was less than my budgeted max amount. In the interest of time, I asked them to do several things I could have done, mount the air tank, battery box, and the seats.

I think the tube will be painted black, still haven't decided. Suggestions? The floor is all expanded metal. The rear deck will accomodate a 37" tire for those times when a real spare is needed.

I am planning to add some body panels to restore the Cruiser appearance. Looking into different lightweight, durable materials that are easy to work with.

I just came in from the garage. WOW, way more work than I anticipated. No wheeling on Sunday, cause I'll be finishing what I started. Once again I've open a can of worms, and I can't stop myself!

The tubing is primed, after removing everything in site to get at it for it's first coat. Checked the final color on a section of the rear and it looks good. Should be able to finish before noon on Sunday. I'll have to repaint the frame, then begin the tedious process of reinstalling everything and routing all the lines and electrical stuff.

No new pics yet, the garage is too tight to get any shots.

Hey Spaceghost can you do me a big favor???

Are you competing or watching the Pro Rock event in Attica???

I'll be flying in Friday to spot for Shupe and was hoping to bum rides somehow. PM me or email me your number so we can talk. My dad lives in West Lafayette so getting there would be cool or getting to Attica or something. Ken said he could pick me up but if I could save him the trouble it would be cool.

Anyone else in the area going (indyCJ???)?

We've began the discussion on that, and should have an answer in the next couple of weeks. Early consensus is that we will have no rules changes for the Legends class... if you guys have input otherwise, SPEAK.

Hey bigdude, exactly how much hacking can you do on a rig before it would knock it out of the legends class ? was just reading the erocc rules and the only things i can see are no full hydro steering, tires 36" and smaller, and a box frame. I thought a tube body would have put it in unlimited but I guess not ... I might could get my junk in the legends next year if so :)

jeepinchad

Along with the no fully hydro steering, Legends can't have rear steer.

That's it.

You will not be changing these rules for 2003 correct???

There are a lot of folks building some sick legends rigs for next season (myself included) and any change in the rules could screw us.
