So ive made the leap over to street from dirt, finally. i live in the sacramento area and was wondering where some real good challenging roads are( within an hour or so)? Ive done alot of exploring and found some good stuff up in the gold country and foothills but i know there is much more i'm missing out on. School me on the good roads!! thanks for any input

Check out pashnit.com, there are a bunch of good places listed there.

All the roads that surround Lake Berryessa are good tight challenging roads. Try Pope Valley CA128 or CA121.

i usually ride salmon falls road, wentworth, mosquito ridge road, 49, theres a bunch of good roads. Unfortunately my bike is down waiting for parts from husky. I ride a husky sm610 and am always out riding whenever possible

and dangerous , a friend of mine died on that road , watch for gravel in the corners and slow moving trucks hauling boats taking wide corners
