1. will the 350 tbi ecm plug into the existing harness? or can the cpi run the tbi?
2. if anyone can post pics of their 350 swap finished, i would appreciate it.
3. any opinions of the advance adapters kit? really worth the $1000 with the radiator

There are lots of "no's" here. First of all, a '97 or '98 350 will have CSFI, not TBI. Now you're talking about taking a computer designed for a 6 cylinder truck and trying to find something with 8 cylinders. Don't ya think it might get a little confused. And no...the harnesses will not work. None of the injection system share connectors or pinouts. Heck, even within the TBI world there are plenty of differences on the pinouts, some that matter, some that don't.
As for the kit...that's up to you. Are you in a position to fabricate up motor mounts, exhaust, cooling, etc to match the swap? That is a question only you can answer. I have used both kits and fabricated things on my truck. It all depends on what it is I am doing, my funding, and my time.

X2
My 89 is an easy swap. But it was TBI , and i am running a TBI 350 . Works great. I can't say the same for a newer Rig. If I was doing the swap I would do a 5.3 or something cool. There is a guy who makes direct harness's to bolt them up also . Specifically for S10's.
s10er8 10-19-2008, 07:20 PM Thats the old style V8 swap Be Cool. Measure what you need and get a Griffin or Afco and save a lot of money. Get motor mounts/adapters from Transdapt. jegs.com has them
s10er8 10-19-2008, 07:21 PM And that sonofabitch would run :smokin:
s10er8 10-19-2008, 07:23 PM I had a Moroso puke tank on it also. Install a remote trans and oil cooler, cooling is your friend because the radiator has got to be so small

the_experience3006 10-19-2008, 07:28 PM Champ Service Line (might be part of Dorman/Motormite now?) has puke tanks for cheap as well.
What headers are you running, S10er8?
s10er8 10-19-2008, 07:35 PM Hedman shorties
the_experience3006 10-19-2008, 08:14 PM Are they the specific swap headers or for a different application? The reason I ask is because I need to find something for my Yota swap, but I'm not sold on huggers.

I have used just center dump block huggers on the swaps I have done(350) and sandersons for the 4.3 swaps.

Well you would be the one to know. Shit...I wish my work could look one tenth as good as yours. Your swaps are CLEAN. [/cockinmouth]
