Seeing as how I don't have my micrometer (it's packed away with all my other belongings) and I don't have access to the Sami I'm about to buy (it's 450 miles away from me), could someone with both a micrometer or other caliper AND access to a stock Sami drag link and tie rod PLEASE measure the OD of these tubes.

I'm having to do a little fabricating for another project and I'd like to do all my materials purchasing for it and my Zuk project all at once. With any luck at all, it will be between .85 and .90 inches

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Matt (this will all make sense rather quickly if I can get measurements)

I am at work or I'd do it for you. I do know that one of the standard pipe sized fits over top of the stock tie rod and drag link perfectly as a sleeve. That may help some.

Well, that's what I needed to know. I just had to buy some sleeving material for a Jeep drag link so that I could slip it into a tubing bender without having to buy yet ANOTHER die. I was hoping to be able to use the same materials for the Sami drag link, but it's not looking too good.

Either way, thanks again for the info!

I thought that might be what you were up to. It is a tight fit, but I hammered my pipe sleeve on and it works great. I have made several bent drag links for Sami's by taking two pieces of 1"X1"x1/4" thick angle and sandwiching the stock drag link (after lengthening it a few inches). I then put a few stitch welds along it, bend it in the press using a piece of rebar as a template, and then weld the rest of the seems. That works very well. It is easy and strong as can be.
