I have an F-150 AOD in my Ford Explorer......mated to a 5.0L V8.
What choices of transfer cases do I have that will bolt up to an AOD, AOD-E or 4R70W. (what transfer case would be best to adapt to a Dana 35 IFS and 8.8 in 31 spline rear.

Thanks in advance,

Al

I'm not 100% certain about tailshaft length issues, but nearly any Ford t-case should bolt up as far as the bolt pattern goes..... 205, 203, 1345, 1356, 208.......

Anything that came under a Ford since the 70s....

NP203, 205, 208

BW 13-45, 13-56

etc.

I'd look for something with a fixed rear yoke. Try a 88-96 Bronco with a 13-56. The NP208 and 13-45 also have good low range ratios.

IIRC if you want to use a 13-45 or 13-56 on a Ranger, Exploder, or B-II you need to notch the frame a bit on the drivers side for clearance.
