: Crazy problem. Flipped 300 and twin sticks.

Guys, I can't figure this shit out for nothin'.

My Dana 300 has been flipped and had a 4:1 reduction installed.

Now, the problem is that with the rear in N I can shift the front into L, N, and H.

I can shift either axle into low range with the other in neutral.

BUT...moving the rear to H forces the front into H as well. I can not get it to run 2WD H. It's like something on the rear shift rail is hitting something in the front rail. I can feel it and see the rear rail try to move the front. From my view (I've looked from top and bottom) externally on the case nothing is hitting.

This is standard info, but here's the shift pattern
Two high: right shifter in the rear position, front shifter in neutral. (What I can't get)
Four high: both shifters in rear position.
Four low: both shifters in the front position.
Two low: right shifter in the front position, left shifter in neutral.
Two low front wheel drive: left shifter in the front position, right shifter in neutral
Neutral: both shifters in the center position

I'm baffled.

WTF is up with this thing? Ideas?

What am I overlooking here?

They have that interlock in there so dumb ass like you won't f up the case. Leave it in so you won't do it wrong, and leave the hardcore stuff up to us big boys. :flipoff2:

Your input gear cluster is in backwards. Don't ask me how I know.

Yes you need to pull the case.

 :flipoff2:

If it was the interlock I doubt I'd have every other conceivable combination available.

Pisses me off. Got the rig from a guy that bought it from a shop in NC and the damn thing physically won't run in RWDH.

YJ_and_Corey, Yeah - it's kind of what I figured. I had hoped I was being a dumbass and overlooking something simple.

Seems some other dumbass overlooked something simple and I get to sort it out.

Down East had the same thing to say when I spoke with them today.

Their advice was to pull the cover off the rear and see if I could physically see the two rails inside hitting.

Hmm, it's just that I was a dumb-ass that assembled a 300 that way once a while back. Every single gear combination except 2HR.
