Hey all,
Please pass the following information to everyone you know, we need your help....

Our club vice-president Joe Vavricek had his garage robbed last night. The thievin bastards took the following:

1) His '84 CJ-7 (dark emerald green) which had a new 258 engine, T-176 transimission, 4" YJ spring conversion, 33" Swampers on black wagon wheels, recovered stock seats (black), new rear bestop seat (black), heavy duty boomerang shackles, the dash is aluminum with a complete set of autometer gauges, the tub has a coating similar to herculiner, but its a undercoating, the rear fenders are cut out, it has a rear AMC20 with one piece shafts, custom front and rear bumpers, Warn 8000k pound winch, high lift jack, and custom xenon lights like you see on newer foreign cars (they are very noticable).

2) Snap-on plasma cutter, older model in typical snap-on red case.

3) Mig welder, I can't remember the brand, but its in a blue case like a Miller would be, and has a roll around cart with it.

4) Various hand tools, gauges, etc.

Please keep an eye out for anyone selling parts or pieces, and email me if you see or hear anything.

I'm sure you can imagine how you would feel if your home were violated and your pride and joy that you had put in so many hours on were stolen.

I'll gather some digital pics if anyone wants them. The chances are that the jeep will be chopped, because it would be too noticable to drive, so please keep an eye out for anyone with new parts they didn't have before, or trying to sell or trade parts (these parts could end up anywhere in Texas or further so please let us know of anything suspicious no matter where you are). We appreciate your help.

You can email me at: kerryphillips@att.net or contact me at home at (512) 360-4060.

You can see a few pics at our web site bastroptx4x4.alloffroad.com (no www in front of it)

Thanks,

Kerry Phillips

Bastop is southeast of Austin. I live a little over thirty miles from bastrop, and I have a friend who lives in Paige, which is even closer.

I hate F'n thieves <IMG SRC="smilies/flipoff.gif" border="0">. Good luck in the recovery. You might also want to watch for some of these items being sold on e-bay.

The Austin 4 Wheelers monthly meeting was tonight...I didn't make it, but did you get the info to them? What about Longhorn Offroad and Texas Trailriders?

Edit...did you contact FWD-FWD in Dallas? If not I'll contact Lance Morin who maintains their website
