K got a good build for everybody to learn off of. Being my first project here after some projects that I have assisted in I hope to learn a lot more than I know now.
Got this truck for 600 bucks (randomnly searching craigslist one day at work). I went up and saw it, looked like a sweet build (my friend concurred) and the guy drove it to my house and took the plates the next day.
This is a list of adventures that I have to dig myself into on this truck:
Needs a clutch
Brakes
New tires/rims
Rocker panels
New bumpers
Front grill
Left fender and flar
and a major frame/leafspring mount rebuild (and more probably to come)
First it sits for about two weeks while I get into a bunch of arguments and shit with the family. I eventually move out and find a job (Ruby Tuesdays). Turns out I am pretty good at what I do there and I learned really fast, and on account that most of the people there are too damn lazy I stepped up to the plate and worked my ass off (my own nature) in return for some hefty pay raises.
But once those pay checks came in, I jumped on a new clutch and did your normal tune up kit (oil, filters, etc.). Luckily my friend had two american racing wheels with tires that I threw quickly on the rear with the best two fronts I could find. So far I am up to gone to a junkyard found two more american racing rims that I am getting the tires mounted tomorrow on. Then what save up for a lift? or fix the body first? I could care less honestly how it looks right now...its whats under the hood right? So whats my best options here? Spring over it and lift it a good 4 inches all around? I know I have the frame prob and brakes thats all being accounted for on this weeks pay checks...but whats after that? Help a kind of newb out?
P.S.- I build these trucks with erick561 (has a toyota hilux build thread some where here). We have a two bay garage with lots of the tools you would need for this build. Plus his bro (my best friend knows a lot about truck building)
