I need a little help here. I need to buy a FSM but I have a few questions about them. I have an 84 x tra cab truck with a 87 22re will the manual be based on a particular year truck or will it be a group of years say 84-88. If it is one particular year can you buy an electrical manual just for the 87 engine? I have looked for one in the threads and they refer you to your local toyota dealer. There isnt a toyota dealer within a 100 miles of me! I check on Ebay but there hadnt been any there in quite some time. I checked the search engines and nothing comes up as to where to purchase one. Any help will be appriciated I know that they are there just having a problem finding them , also a phone # or website would be nice if you thimk of any.

TIA Chris:confused:

I got mine off Ebay as well. I got a FSM for an 87 and an electrical only manual for an 88 I think. This was well over a year ago. The elcetrical one was only $15. If you only need that, go to Toyota and have them order it up. Shouldn't be much more.

The FSM's are single year. Call a dealers parts dept, and they can tell you if there are more than one to cover the vehicle.

If you want an FSM now, buy a new one, or if your patient, kep looking for a used one. They are very handy to have

If you are willing to pay the Dealer price for it (about 100 bucks), just call the Toyota Dealer and give them your CC number and mailing address. They can usually mail it right to your house. I have done this with lots of parts and I'm not even that far from the Dealer.

Along the lines of what Schly said, if you order from one of the dealers that offer internet discounts, the price drops to around $80 per FSM

Here ya go.......
Ya can call them direct and order any FSM still published.
You can ask them about a specific year and model to find out all the different FSM's & Supplements available......

I think they are cheaper ordering direct, as you dont have to pay the dealer mark-up, but then you do have to pay shipping.......

If you can find a Robert Bently manual, you'll be doing pretty good. They published it up to 88.

I called around to all the Toy dealers in San Diego last week. Going price for the FSM's is about 125.00. One dealer gave me the ph. # of the place they order them from and it would actually come out more expensive to get the books from them. Plus you'd have to pay shipping. I looked on Ebay and only found one for my year ('88 4Runner). What is very plentiful on Ebay is the FAM's on cd-ROM. I don't know how good these are. Anybody know? They're only 15 bucks, so maybe it's worth a shot?
