i understand that at a area in Wa. known as funnyrock/moonrock the law enforcement was handing out reckless driving tickets for anyone that rolled thier rig while attempting obstacles. it seems if your rig is capable to climb an obstacle its ok but if for whatever reason you dont make it and end up on your side or rolling you get a 500 dollar wreckless driving ticket? i did not witness this happening and i rolled my rig the next day. law enforcement was present and checked under rigs for illegal exhaust and scolded anyone with any mud on thier rigs. the law officer had left the area by the time i had my rollover. i understand this happened to at least two individuals on saturday july 25th. my source said there were some SNORT boys there and i was wondering if this did in fact happen. not only would a 500 dollar fine be another stab in the gut think of the lingering issues about insurance and driving record...... so can anyone confirm this as fact?

still licking the wounds on the rig but it will return for more soon.

I got a Wreckless Driving Ticket while "Wheeling" once in a construction area... Took it to court, and the officers thought they had me in a bind... Come to find out, my lawyer was smarter than them... Any Citations (at least here in NC) given by state patrol or local authorities are only valid if they are on a Public Roadway... I could have gotten the shaft for tresspassing, but since my ticket said Wreckless Endangerment and I was on private land, it was a non-valid ticket... So if you were not on a "Road" or state maintained area, you can get out of that... The DMV and such can only control their territories... Now the forest service or something might be different...

I got stopped last saturday about 2 minutes after being on the pavement. I got an ass chewing about all the mud..... I was like WTF am I supposed to do...not like there's a car wash at the end of the trail. I didn't get a ticket, so I can't complain. But he said he'll remember me and I will get a ticket the next time he sees me packin mud!

So is it illegal to have a dirty truck now?

in bellevue and issaquaw there is a city ord about driving a dirty vehicle if there is the possibility that something (clump o mud) falls off. it is directed at the sport of muddin.

Hey hip, sounds like a load to me. I don't think there were any SNORT members over there that weekend. We were over the weekend of July 4th. I rolled my junk that weekend, but there was no law enforcement so no ticket. Who was your source? Can they name the members or what they drive who were allegedly over there?

well thats why im asking its a friend of a friend. he said some guy rolled at moonrocks with his kids in the rig. nobody was injured at all. it was the weekend that all the suvs were up there. some PNWA jamboree or something like that. that was the reason we avoided that area on saturday too many people up there then. i think decker and some of the scout guys were up there with cash and some others.... i dont know who name wise. i asked the same question on the SNORT board today so maybe its all rumour.......

We were all over there the 4 th of july weekend, A few members from the binders, patty, rick and mark, A few from snort, a Few from WTO and some canadians too. So it sounds like a load to me unless whoever can't read a calander.

well that does make me feel a little better. when a guy can roll his rig on sultan basin road after having a beverage at lunch and no ticket or nothing...... vice a guy rolling in a place kinda sorta designated for that.
