Hi there,

i recently passed a ford explorer, and i couldn't help but notice that the rear leaves are rather long and flat...

... which makes them a good candidate for a swap into a cj6

anybody done a swap (into any other vehicle)?

anybody know how long they are?

Where do you want him to go out to measure? He didn't say he had one, or his neighbor did, only that he saw one, and it got him thinking.

They are 56" long. We put some in a 4 runner, they bent every trip. Toyota guys are using 63" long 2wd chevy truck springs. They flex really good.

Mine were 56 1/2" long but the difference could just be operator error on the tape measure.

They are ok if you are going to keep them SUA but when you use them SOA they tend to get a nice S-curve going on right near the rear spring eye. But then again in a lighter CJ6 they may work.

SUA = spring under axle
SOA = spring over axle

DRM has a page with a bunch of spring info to get lengths off of as well. instead of explorer springs maybe try ranger springs they come for SOA so they may resest the S'ing of the springs a little more.
