Im trying to do this and Im just having a bitch of a time. I honestly dont see how it is gonna work with the distributor right there. If anyone has made this work, please post up a pic or two to help me on my way. This is the last major item to complete before I can pull it out of the driveway!!!!!

Thanks!

I honestly dont think it is possible. The disributer is right there above it. Saginaw pump is a lot bigger than a toy pump. I dont see how folks are dong this. Maybe the people that have done it have all done it to a 22RE which in that case, the distributer is ain a different spot I think.

HEEEEEEEELPPPPPP ME!

Can you put it on the other side of the engine?

Go to the parts store and look at a pump off an '80s Chevy with a 6.2 Diesel. They have a remote resevoir like the Toyota pump and I think it may be a Saginaw but I am not sure. I would like to know this stuff because I will be doing something similar soon.

I got it figure out, kinda. I used the stock (Toy) bracker and just bolted one of the bolts on the pump to the bracket. This way I was able to keep it far enoguh out and tilted to the drivers side some so taht it clears the distributor. Not the best way to do things. If the one bolt wont hold it (seems firm as is) Im gona weld some kinda tab on to get another bolt on there.

That is what I was struggling with, trying to get 2-3 bolts on the stock bracket but then I just said screw it.

If ya want pics, check my posts tommorrow night. My brother will be home tonight and Ill take pics of my entire hydro setup tommorrow and probably pst them tommorrow night.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what's wrong with running the Toy pump and some adaptation to whatever orbital valve you've got? I'm running a Toy pump and a 2" cylinder ram assist on a Toy box, runs great.

As far as other stuff goes, if it was me, I'd put it on the other side of the engine, either where the AC belongs if you don't have AC, or above/outboard of the AC compressor. Or push it farther outboard in the "normal" PS pump location--the stock Toy pump is pretty far out already, I'd think you'd have more trouble with the hood than the distributor.

Oh, and running it with only one bolt holding it on? Not gonna last long that way. Get at least two in there, or it'll rattle loose over time. Toy four-poppers aren't exactly the world's most well-balanced motors. Most GM pumps run four bolts for a reason. :(

I think some of these guys want to run full hydro. But also if you are running a 2" assit and hydraboost brakes i think the lil toy pump could become over powered.

yikes. yes i have done it but i used the remote resiviour style. never seen it done with a resiviour attached.

good work

never seen it done with a resiviour attached.

I will take it as a complement comming from CAMO:D

One bolt will not last at all. I have multiple boltsa holding it and I even tack welded some of the brackets to prevent them from loosening up.

This is TyTy...

Thanks for the replys ya'll. I was wondering about that one bolt thing. :D I guess Ill add some kind of tab to it and get another bolt on there. Wont be that hard.

Scott... I wanted to run a saginaw pump cause my shiat is full hydro (pics tommorrow) and I eventually wanna get one of thos high output saginaw pumps and why not have the bracket all ready for it?

BTW: I would think hydro assist would be harder on a pump than full hydro... maybe not, who knows.

If you wanna see my setup check my thread tommorrow on my hydro setup, Ill put pics in there.

thanks again, I was frustrated there for a while but it wasent even that hard once I gave up trying to get more than one bolt in there:D

i'm going to swap the alt and p/s pump to gm parts but i'm going with the pump down low and alt up high to keep it out of the water.
