: hysteer arm reaming

just did a SOA on a 1980 scout 2 for a friend, used hysteer arms from harsh terrain and DOM tubes for the tie rod and drag link. the ends are MOOG part # es150R and es150L. the arms come with 3/8 pilot holes so you can open them to whatever end you use, problem is my local machine shop is closed for three weeks because of a chemical leak. this truck has to leave for florida on wed,can anyone tell me where i can get a reamer for the holes that matches the moog tre's. i can drill them out and ream the rest if i can find the right reamer.the thread on the end is about 1/2 and the taper goes from about 9 1/6 to probably 5/8 any info or direction would be a big help.

also the ends used are suppose to be the replacements for a scout 2 if that helps.would it be easier to just ask for a reamer for cleaning up scout 2 holes?like the holes in 44 knuckles?

thanks chris

Search "Taper Reamer" and find out were others have gotten theirs. The correct Reamer is 1.5" per foot, not 7º.

The spiral reamers work a little better.

Then probably pay some extra freight to get it fast. Drill to the minor diameter then ream out the rest, drill press or mill works the best but you can do it with a (slow) hand drill.

Search is you friend, unless a neighbor happens to have one.

Sounds like you have it taken care of, but I'm a couple of hours up I95 from you and have the reamer if you need it.

Got a link to your auction?

Just scrolled through and found NO 1.5"/ft reamers for under $70 each. Found lots a cheap tapered reamers in machine tool, most didn't say their taper so you can only guess.

If you scored, cool. I'd just hate for you to have gotten the wrong part then f-up your arms.

don't have a link, found a guy who had an auction for a bunch of misc reamers and other tools and emailed him to see if he had 1.5 tpf,he did along with another one he thought was a 2,was going to thro them in a box for a 30 dollar paypal,so ebay yes, offical auction no.usaully if i find someone with something i need,or close to,i will email them to see what else they have or are willing to sell ,trade, buy whatever.found alot of good stuff that way.some guys have something like a lathe for sale, chances are they have other shop tools they might sell, but were to cheap or lazy to put together an auction

will try and find the guy for you tho
