I've been using a front bumper with spring hangers integrated into it. I mounted the thing up and have been using 56" springs that were a bitch to mount and now I see why. I have the K5 taken apart and have the bumper set aside. The 1/4" plates that mount to the front of the K5 frame are angled to match the angle of the frame (also the main 1/4" plate for the spring hanger). This means the the front of the springs mount at a slight angle outward and are outboard from the stock location a little. From top to bottom the plates are angled 1". Is this a problem or should I just live with it?

Having a hard time understanding the question.
What I gather is that the spring hanger has a difference of 1 inch in vertical top to bottom measurement? In other words, everything is not straight up and down, 90* in relation to a theoretically flat surface....
Its hard to tell from the pics. Did you mount them yourself? The bottom of the frame should not be angled. Mine is not. The two frame sides should look like this [ ]
Is yours different?
I'm gonna guess that maybe it would bind a little when the spring tries to articulate. Other than that, DIY4x.com has a spring hanger for the 52 inch and longer springs that you might want to take a look at.
Edit: Your second pic is the only one that really details what your question is.
I probably wouldn't run it like that, if it were me, I would remount it so its vertical.

I think it has a small angle that creates a bigger one the further you go down. When I mounted the bumper on the frame it lined up flush even with the angle.
Is yours different?
I guess it is, but just a small 1/8" difference from the top of the frame to the bottom. But like I said, it translates to a little under 1" at the bottom of the spring hanger.

Was thinking about cutting the hangers off and going with that but the mount on my bumper mounts lower (less leaves in the spring pack) and more forward (better shackle angle and points the pinion angle up more. I buy almost everything from Kert, so for another way of doing it that's the only way I'd go.

I might try hacking the mounts a little to make them vertical and making sure the shackles and also straight. Another thing I noticed was the shackles were at a werid angle as well.

Kinda but that wouldn't work out too well.

Somebody on CK5 said to heat them up and bend them in, then reweld and gusset them. Any thoughts on that?

the original owner had it setup for a dodge axle.
the builder made the inner first then bent it out to attache the out to the skin.
or that scary fuck long ass anchor of a mount bent out from use.
pm mj and ask him.

Leaning more toward cutting the mounts off and ordering the diy4x B52's. I'll probably get to hacking later today.
