what other options do i have? I have a 1.1 ohm ceramic like all the other cherokees. I want to know if anybody has been successful finding a nice aluminum heat sink style to replace it. or found another cooler area to mount it other than in the engine compartment. especially since it is mounted on the intake/exhaust side on the compartment.

I already know mine needs to be replaced. but of course the engine compartments on these piles, I mean lovely vehicles are always hotter than they should be.

I wonder if I mounted the resistor to a heat sink, then to a cooler surface area.

Just get rid of it. It won't hurt anything & the newer one don't have it from the factory. JIM.

Yeah you could just get rid of it. The early ones didn't have it either. They put it in to make the pump quieter and last a little longer.

Thanks for the info. i know this is a no no for the ignition system. I read up on removing it completely and they have the same answers from techs as well. thank you guys.
