Its a 80 scout II front end putting it on my jeep stretching 3" forward. I have learned that IH used 8 bolt knuckles instead of 6 so not just getting ideas for Hi steer knuckles. If I use FSJ or chevy knuckles I have to buy new spindles, hub and brakes am I correct? Was hoping there was an IH knuckle that woudl work.

You can either use chevy flat tops and re drill them for 8 bolt spindles/brakes, or swap everything balljoint out from a chevy, use 76 down spindles so you can put 80's f150 hubs and rotors on to get back the 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern. search mr. N's dana 44 artical

Search... its in IH past threads.....

Otherwise, check IH pickup 4x4 flat top knuckles, IH4EVER used those on his 44 front axle for his high steer

if you are trying to go with aftermarket knuckles then I don't know. but if you are wanting to do high steer, your best bet is one of two options
1)find a pair of flat top knuckles from a chevy dana 44. Put the IH hub on them and cope 8 hole pattern and drill them out in a drill press. Install them in place of the IH knuckles. Then get a set of high steer arms. KOZ seems to be the cheapest, thats who I went through back in my 1/2 ton days.

2) Find an entire dana 44 from the front of a 1975 or older chevy 1/2 ton and swap out everything besides the inner axle shafts and the housing/stuff inside the housing. I call it swapping everything balljoint out, including stub shafts. Then put hubs and rotors from an 80's f150 on it to get back to your original bolt pattern.

3) SEARCH! http://www.binderbulletin.org/forums/index.php

PartsMikeParts use to sell IH 8 bolt hysteer complete kit for $699
That means you need to rake a lot of leaves to get some extra cash.
Or sell other part to make up the budget short fall.
You would need to call.

You might want to change everything from the balljoints out anyway as Scout 44's have the equivelent of a Dana 30 outter stub and can be weak for an upgrade.

Thanks for all the info. Im starting to think chevy knuckles with ford hub and disc is the way to go. I have been noticing that the hub looks pretty week. Drilling the knuckle or the spindle also seems week

Not really... it only take a few minutes. If it takes you a week to drill them out, maybe this isn't your hobby. :flipoff2:

My 'weak' redrilled Chevy knuckles have lasted a long time... I've had them for about 6-7 years under one truck or another.

I ran them redrilled for scout 8-bolt spindles for 3 years - then swamped back to chevy 6-bolt spindles for the last 4 years. No problems and no failures due to my super low tech redrilling job.
