working and trying to save up for a proper engine and transmission to match the jeep i bought, i have all the money saved up to go ahead with this project. i have decided to go with a cummins 5.9 to make this buggy/daily driver move. mated to it will be a nv 4500 and a 205 or dana 300 i still havent descided on that one. but id like some help in answering questions, i am in the process of starting a build thread as i got some body work to do.
1) i need all the info on a cummins 5.9 put into dodges of all years and the differences, plus what they came with as in injectors, alternator rating etc anything to do with the engine of all generations and everything there is to know about the engine, a link maybe ???
2) i know hooking a nv 4500 to a transfer case that wasnt meant for chevy differentials is prolly not going to work out so well, so what i need is suggestions as to what to do, get a chevy nv 4500 and 205 and mate it to a cummins ? or just get custom driveshafts made ? im kind of stuck on where to go for this, plus is there a possibility of a dana 300 on the back ??
3 ) DOES ANYONE KNOW THE HEIGHT WIDTH AND LENGTH OF A CUMMINS 6 BT ? 5.9 ? THANKS I NEED IT TO ROUGH IDEA WHERE I WILL CUT THE FIREWALL ??
thanks all more questions to come

that 6bt is efing huge for a jeep ur best bet would be a 4bt but if u do the 6bt i would look at weather or not ur gonna do electric or mechanical injection if its a 24 valve cummins u need electrionic but the 12 valve takes mechanical plus the 12 valve u can turn up more and for cheaper than the 24 with the 12 valve it should come stock with the p injection pump which has more flow than the 24 valves vp 44 im not sure what injectors came stock but my buddy is running 307 marine injectors in his 12 valve and its insanely quick as for a link there is cumminsforum.com turbodieselregistry.com dieselbombers.com ect. just google it also if you do the diesel engine i would subscribe to dieselpower mag. there is a lot of swaps in there

Height is about 36" Width is about 24-30" depending which turbo, and length is 36" give or take which pully setup you have.

you need a dodge NV4500 I believe for that motor chevy won't work. (different mounts.)
But not sure how you will fit that beast in there.

That thing should jump level and true. Motor is around 1200 lbs fully dressed. Many swaps have been done that I've read about, going to be lots of enlarging of engine bay. Going to intercool it? Why not use whole drivetrain from donor truck? Best of luck.

ya dude like i said earlyer... that motor is freakin big so do a LOT of research about it and as for the chevy mating to the cummins set up there is a website called DESTROKED.COM they specialize in putin ANY cummins in fords but they do it all anyways and they have all kinds of adaptors for any tranny or any motor just about. they are out of broomfield colorado.

i wouldnt put a 6bt in a jeep. the whole point of jeeps is their small and light, which make them good woods trucks. you want to put an anchor in the engine bay then your gonna have more trouble than getting it to fit. talk about crazy unbalanced weight on the axles. if you want a diesel then get a 4bt. still a huge weight, but not as crazy as a 6.
