Working towards turning a 90 R3500 3+3 into a four wheel digem rig instead of the useless 2wd version she is now:barf: The 4L80E shit its britches a few weeks ago and a rebuild is in its future so figured while at it to stick a divorced Dodge 205 behind it and sling a 60 front would be cherry. From my readings and searchings is that this route is the cheapest and easiest without having to search for the golden adapters and 32 spline inputs etc. Wondering mostly if anybody has run into any problems or heard of any while doing the t-case swap. I know the VSS will stay in the trans and should read right in 2wd but not in 4wd(but who cares) The t-case I'd run is already twin sticked,1350 yokes and shafts. Only issue I can see is there might more issues with driveline vibs with the intermedite shaft at higher speeds. Anybody else know of any info to toss out would be great to know before we start:flipoff2:

It should be a pretty straight forward install, once you build your crossmember and get the shafts figured out.

I had a 203/241 behind my 4L80 for a while and the VSS worked fine in low and double low as far as the shifting went, but in overdrive at about 10 mph, the speedometer says about 80.

You dont need a VSS in the tcase. Already been through all this on my setup.

Unless your using it for tuning for the motor, which this just effects the Gen III's mostly at idle/part throttle running in 4low.
A 4x4 TBI motor will run just fine with the VSS in the transmission, the stock 2wd location in the 4l80.
Odin hows yours run with the 8.1L in 4low?
But this sound like a great way to add an overdrive if you have the wheel base for the length.
