I have a 2007 NNBS Silverado 4x4 Crew Cab. I have a lead on a very nicely priced 14bolt SF 6 lug out of a 2007 VMAX truck. My truck comes with rear drums and this one with rear disks. I will running 37s when I get back from Iraq in a few months and need a few kinks worked out of my plan. The 14bolt is bare so there are no brakes with it. Some have said I can mount my stock drums off my 10 bolt to it until I afford the disks. Can this be done? What am I missing and what are your thoughts on making this a stress free swap??

I don't know if the drum brakes will work on the 14b, but why don't you just run the 10b until you get the disk setup for the 14b. Then you can just swap it all in at once and be done? .02

I think you may find the rotors and the calipers will interchange with a disc brake Suburban/Tahoe or earlier 4 wheel disc brake rear axle from a truck with the parking brake in the backside of the rotor. The only thing you may have to buy new (from Chevrolet) is the caliper bracket. I'd have the parts guy look at a Suburban/Tahoe bracket and then the Vmax bracket. If the part numbers match, then start looking for junkyard parts.
