How about some picts of CJs with 39.5 or 42" tires? Don't seem to be a whole lot around <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

I'm runing a 19.5" rear driveshaft and will have enough lift to clear 42s with heavy body triming...

Could you run a standard cut D70FF with that much lift? Just put it in and point the pinion skyward and move the fill plug up? or will it start having oiling problems?

My 70 pinion is tilted, but not too badly. I just fill it up till it's running out and have never had an oiling problem. You won't have much ground clearance with a 70 and 39.5's.

I ran 44's on a 92" wheelbase Cruiser with a 70 last year. My driveshaft was yoke-slip-yoke.

There was 1" of shaft material.

I lengthened the truck by 8 inches for this year, and the rear angle is no problem now. I run 1410 joints.

Heres my heep in the making. it's ripped back down to the frame rails now but this is what 38.5x11.50's look.

The guy with 4" sua and 42s must have gone crazy with the sawall <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

I wacked my front fenders real good when I put TJ flares on and shifted the front axle forward ~1.5" with a shackle reversal...so on the front I don't think I'll have a problem with 42s but on the back I'm going to have to get crafty with the saber saw and torch <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
