Show me some pics of what you did to make your front cover a little more rock friendly. I want to weld on some gusseting or something to make my front cover gring over rocks without hitting the bolts. Thanks

Don't let him fool you, he took a stainless steel dog dish and cut it in half and bolted it on.

If that's true that's damn funny. Actually, it's damn funny even if it isn't true. So is it true? I might have to make a petco run, I imagine that it's much cheaper than the other dana diff covers.

I welded something similar to this onto the cover, then ground the housing smooth, even with the 'ramp', to eliminate any sharp or protruding edges. It does seem to help when plowing over rocks

No,its not a dog dish!! Its 1/4"x1.5" flat stock, heated, bent, and welded together. The front is 4 pieces. Its tough. Its taken some good hits with only scratches to show for it.It also acts as sort of a ramp and helps to slide over stuff.

Hey frizzlefry it would be bad ass if you took that thing off and turned its backside up and took a pic so we could see the internal makings.

Not much to see on the back side, just a few weld beads and the flange that the bolts go through.Iv made a couple more that the front is 1 piece and they take a little less time to build.I have one I just finished at my house that I can take a pic of .
