I have a stock 2f and carb and need help as to where to hook up the vaccum to the carb. The carb is not advancing with the line down on a lower port. Also if anyone knows what accuates the secondarys? Thanks Bill

Don't have a 2F, but you shouldn't see any vacuum at idle.. the advance should only come on when you blip the throttle..

Maybe that helps?

Ok, instead of making a new thread...

I have a franken-carb on my '76 2F. It's a 78 carb with a spacer plate to allow it to fit the stock air cleaner. I've been trying to get the vac advance hooked up, but it puts out a lot of vacuum at idle from where I though the vac advance should be...Anybody have any ideas? There's 3 ports on the backside, as opposed to the 1 on a '76 carb...2 from near where the stock port was, and one slightly above. I thought that the vac advance should go onto the upper port, plug one lower, and hook up the stock line...it didn't like that and wouldn't hold a steady idle unless i disconnected the line...anybody know how I might hook it up correctly?

Nobody say get a weber, either, I have to pass IM's, and I can fake it with an Asain carb, but the minumum wage junkies at jiffy lube can tell the difference between a weber and an asain:(

Don't know if this is right but I hooked the vaccum advance for the 78 carb to the single port on the top of the carb/breather. Somewhere here I read that this is the right amount of vaccum. I don't really understand carbs, so I will see what happens. Seems like we have a similar problem. This helped me so far. I went for a trial run this pm and it seems ok. Surely there is someone on this board with a stock 78 carb?
