First off i read the FAQ about hydraboost brakes and what not but still have some questions. I just swapped in some 14bolt rear (drums) and dana 44 front. I extended the brake lines about 6 inches. Now i have no pedal feel brakes hit the floor and dont seem to build pressure. Have bleed the brakes multiple time in the proper order. Thinking my brake booster is toast just sounds like air is passing through there. So i was wandering if i should replace the scout one or switch to a larger brake booster and master cylinder fromt a chevy or something?
Thanks

Did you have brakes before you changed the axles ? If you did did it have disc / drum set up from the beginning? If you had discs to start with make sure the rear drums are ajusted properly. A SCOUT caliber and chevy caliber are very close in size and fluid volume from the master should not be a proplem. If you had front and rear drums then most likely the master does not move enough fluid. I have had very good luck over the years with a chevy 1 ton master early 80s vintage [& there cheap] but i don't know if the mounting flang is the same as a scout and remember if you were drum on drum you have to have proportioning valve or bad things can happen.

I had the same set up that you are talking about, for a short time. I didn't like the way my Scout MC worked with the larger Chevy brakes. So I swapped to a 3/4 ton Chevy MC -- I have posted the part # in another thread before and am too lazy to find it right now. I used the same one on 2 trucks and it worked great. Bolts right to the Scout booster - the only thing you need to do is change the length of the push rod a touch.

If you booster works - leave it alone.

I ran it with drums on the back for a year or so - then went to rear discs and keep everything the same - still works great.

But now I have a complete hydroboost system and I am considering that... But I like my current brakes enough I might not mess with them.

It did have front disc and rear drum before the swap.
Uglyscout if you have anymore info on the 3/4 mc that would be great
