Has Carparts.com ever given good service? Yea I know about the free winches, but I have never had a order go right with them.

FWIW:

Carparts.com's service has always sucked. The main rule with them is don't order anything breakable - they stick the parts boxes inside big boxes with no packing. Also had some problems with them charging too much on the CC (core charges, before they started telling folks that they charged any sort of core charge).

JCW on the other hand I've never had problems with - sure some of their parts are junk, but they've always arrived on time.

Am I correct in thinking that the winch in question is Warn's "OLD RELIABLE" style????

Anyone got a pic???

yes the 8274 is the old relaible high speed type.. you cant go wrong that is unless you have an airflow problem with your radiator.

The free winches came when the winch was selected and then removed from the "shoping cart" and other items were selected and kept/purchased. Mine came with the lights I had ordered - much to my surprise since I had decided to order from 4wpw <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">. Thanx to 4wpw's lack of available stock, I got the Carparts one first and cancelled the order from 4wpw.

For the guys who picked them up at "advanced", are you referring to this company?

http://www.advanceautoparts.com

They had this winch:

http://products.warn.com/warn.nsf/pages/TruckProducts.Winches.winchM8274.html

for $850?

When I look online:

http://www.partsamerica.com/PartDetails.asp?SourceArea=&SourcePage=SEARCHRESULTS&MfrCode=WAR&MfrPartNumber=38631

it's $1119. When I called the local (77840) store, they said it was $1119.

Am I missing something or did they change the pricing? Can someone tell me the store location that they talked to that has the $850 pricing?

Thanks. ~dso

Carpart dot com is listing it at $1399

http://www.jimsoffroadwarehouse.com goes to windrockoffroad.com and it's $1065 + SHIPPING
http://www.windrockoffroad.com/part_detail.asp?PartNo=WRN.38631

Essentially Offroad's is $1,065.95

4WPW is also up there, $1,069.99

Are these companies just willing to sell them lower than they're listed on their websites?

lol...more like screwups get caught after 2 years.

A friend and I got in on that deal, I ordered the 8274-50 at the AA parts counter on a Wed night at 8:30p, paid $905 tax and shipping included, and it was at the store on Friday noon.

Not gonna find that deal again for a while I bet....

Fuck!

I didn't even notice that. It just came up on a search. I noticed 10 (Oct) something or other, that's about it. I guess that's what three days of sleep deprivation does for you. Either that, or someone slipped me some good shit in my drink this morning. :smokin:

Please disregard my babbling.

The weekend can't come soon enough...
