Window motor, I've seen this exact symptom many times.

It's worth taking the door panel off and checking all the contacts and connections at the motor. I doubt its getting hot.

My cheap-ass method of making this work (for as long as I could have) was to take the inner door panel off, and thereis a "peep-hole" on the top of the motor...DROWN it with WD-40 (or the likes) while operating...seems that these motors are made with crappy metal at the gears and there seems to be a build up of resistance for the gears to work together...

Another thing I have done is bang at the motor with the bottom of my fist...kind of coerse the fawker to work...(weird situation when you are pulled up to a Army Checkpoint in the Bekaa valley - drugs/terrorism - and you are "reaching down" to open the window and they hear "bangs"...)

BTW - awesome avatar...only catalyst for me to type more than 3 words :flipoff2:

LOL, and I thought driving up to the guard houses at the old airbase in the UP when lost was bad!

OTOH, the soldiers probably drove Rovers and knew exactly what you were doing!

Nah! They had manual windows on their FJ40s...Only the "big bosses" had Land Rovers (Rangies)...but no wind-down windows...Bullet-proof glass that don't wind-down...

Try jumpering directly to the window motor to rule out the motor.

Beware the ETM has some errors in the window troubleshooting section, if you don't know how they work, the errors will run you 'round the barn in the wrong direction.
